What the Bible Truly Can Do
—Translated from the Bislama

These words [the Bible] that we must believe and obey, what can they do? "I am not ashamed of the gospel for it is the power of God for salvation to all who believe..." (Romans 1:16). "High God, your word is like a light that shows my way" (Psalm 119:105).

You and I must follow everything that Jesus teaches in the New Testament of the Bible. You and I must be against everything that is not according to the words of this Book, for this book came forth from the true God in Heaven.

1 Able To Unite Every Christian

These scriptures are able to unite all Christians so that they may be one. Man's teaching makes all different groups with different beliefs and they conflict. But the teaching of the Holy Spirit makes one group only and this is good. Paul says, “You will no longer be divided into different groups. You must unite having only one mind and one purpose.” (1Corinthians 1:10).

Jesus built only one church and he asked his Father in Heaven, "I pray for all who believe in me, that they be united as one" (John 17:21). What is the basis of this prayer? There is only one answer, namely the word of God (John 17:8,17:17). God has only one way to bring about “the unity of the Spirit” (Ephesianss 4:1-6). The Bible tells us fully everything that the Holy Spirit reveals to us. Thereby we can become the one body of Jesus.

2 Able To Make You and Me Right

These scriptures are able to make you and me become proper people of God. Jesus said, “If you obeying my words, then you are my disciples indeed ” (John 8:31). John said, “When one goes beyond the teaching of Christ, and joins yet again more words from one’s own thinking, one does not have God in one's life (2 Jon 1:9).

The Bible is perfect for teaching us the true word and preventing unreasonable talk. And the Bible is perfect for straightening up our stupid ways and teaching us how to live right, how to be wiser, and how to do good works (2Timothy 3:14-17).

The Bible tells us everything we need to do to be ready to stand before God in his court to be judged, every one of us (Romans 14:10-12). The Bible has much to say about this. There isn't room on this page to write in detail. But there is a little space to provide a list to show these things briefly...

Here's What to Do...

1. Hear Christ’s word
(Romans 10:8-17, Matthew 7:24).

2. Believe —have faith in Jesus
(Romans 1:16-17, John 3:16)

3. Repent from sin
(Romans 2:4-5, Romans 6:1-2, Luke 5:31-32)

4. Confess Christ
(Romans 10:8-10, Matthew 10:32)

5. Be baptized into Christ’s death
(Romans 6:3-4, Mrk 16:15-16)

6. Continue your commitment
(Romans 12:1-2, Romans 12:11-12, Luke 9:62)

3 Able To Reveal the Gospel

These scriptures are able to tell you and me the good news of Jesus, which is to say that Jesus died on the cross to take away all our sins, and he lived again, never more to die (1Corinthians 15:1-4). After that, he ascended to Heaven. Now he continually prays to give aid to you and me (Acts 1:9-10, Hebrews 4:12-16).

Jesus alone has the power to be our Saviour when we go before the court of God (John 14:6, John 12:32, Romans 1:16).
