The chart is self explanatory and provides you with a concise schema for sermons. Of course you will vary the emphasis which each part gets. Especially in the loop of the sermon's main body, as you pass through each point, you will not dwell equally upon, nor even use, every "...ate".
The schema gives an underlying structure which you use intelligently and creatively. In some sermons you may want the structure to be clearly discernible to the audience, in others you will disguise it. However the structure will always be there. Even a sermon or lesson without points as such, will have stages, and for the purpose of structure you can think of them as points.
