How to be Truly Happy SERIES  —This series will reveal the secrets of achieving true happiness in life. Some of these secrets are surprising and they are things that worldly people may not evaluate as ways to be happy.

Edified by Superior Thought  —Continuing Paul's theme, 'We worship God in the Spirit, and glory in Christ Jesus, and put no confidence in the flesh' (Philippians 3:3). we consider what kind of thinking edifies the spiritually minded.

Spiritual Wellbeing  —The various elements of spiritual wellbeing and joy in Jesus are shown in an outline summary of the letter.

Compliments Paul Pays His Friends  —Paul’s great regard for his friends in the church at Philippi, and his companions in ministry whom they loved.

Christ in You the Hope of Glory (1)  —Our Place in the Family of God. First of the three glorious privileges that our association with Jesus Christ bestows upon us to give substance and assurance to our hope.

A Mansion for You  —An uplifting and reassuring study from John 14:1-6 about the promise of heaven.

The Marks of a Saint  —At least 21 spiritual blessings keep appearing in the scriptures that we are studying. All these blessings are true of holy people or 'saints' as some Bibles say. I have mnemonically arranged the 21 terms into seven groups of three. We might call these the seven marks of a saint.

The Well-beloved Gaius  —The 3rd epistle of John says four wonderful things about Gaius: he was well beloved; his soul prospered; he walked in truth; he acted faithfully.

If I Be Lifted Up  —Jesus said, “If I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men to myself”. His crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension, are the three ways he did this.

Christ Our Peacemaker (Ephesians 2:11-22)  —A verse by verse study about about how Jesus has brought into fellowship with God the very people who were most alienated from him.

Our Right Mental Attitude  —God blesses me in the fullest measure (1Peter 1:2), My God is strong, His word abides forever (1Peter 1:25), I have returned to my Shepherd (1Peter 2:25).

The Indwelling of the Holy Spirit  —Does the Holy Spirit dwell in the Christian? If so, how and why?

Encourage One Another  —A lesson about one of the most neglected commandments in the churches (encouragement), and one of the biggest problems (discouragement).

A Rest for God's People  —After God created the world, he rested, indicating that beyond our life in this world we can look forward to a rest with God in heaven.

His Grace is Our Strength  —A continuation of the previous lesson. In keeping Christ’s commandments faithfully, we will realize the benediction, “Grace be with you all, Amen.”

Pressing On to Perfection (1988)  —Study in Hebrews presented at a lectureship in 1988. Same title as another lesson in our Hebrews studies, however on this occasion I treated the subject differently.

Turning Sorrow to Joy (Isaiah 53)  —The sorrow portrayed in Isaiah 53 is sorrow that turns into joy. There are three ways this is true.

Do Not Be In Fear 1  —As we read through Isaiah, we keep coming across this theme: Don’t fear your enemies but do fear the Lord. (1st study)

The Rapture  —The Rapture at the Last Day is a precious promise to the Christian. However the popular teaching about it is wrong.

The Influence of Hope  —If life is hopeless in our eyes we have nothing to encourage us and keep us going.

The Anchor of Hope  —The third of five lessons on the theme “Anchors in the Storm” In this lesson, we consider hope as an anchor when we are buffeted by storms of pessimism.

Nothing But the Best  — (2Peter 1:1-4) We focus on the excellence, glory, and perfection of what God has granted to us, and how we must not allow God’s gift to be diluted or polluted by man.

Be a Do Moster  —An encouragement to give the most that you can to God rather than the least required.

Seven Goals in Grace (2Thessalonians 1)  —An inspirational lesson in 2nd Thessalonians chapter 1, joining the first five verses with the last two.

Spiritual Wellbeing - Philippians SERIES  —studies in Paul’s letter to the Philippians, developing the elements of spiritual wellbeing. Lessons are designed for class teaching or a lectureship/workshop programme. The lessons are available as a print friendly ebook in pdf format.

An Eager Hope  —A hope of heaven is not irrelevant to our life on earth, rather heavenly hope makes earthly life worthwhile.

The Joy of the Lord is Your Strength  —(Nehemiah 8:10) God’s heaven is joyful. “The Lord’s strength and joy are in his place” (1Chronicles 16:27). How do we give joy to the Lord, and how does this make us strong?

Well Done! Come!  —On Judgment day, Jesus will commend and reward the deeds we do for others, and appreciate them as though they were done for him (Matthew 25:23,34,40).

To Him Who Is Able... (Jude 1:24-25)  —Jude’s short epistle ends with a benediction —a poem of blessing about God’s ability to keep us from stumbling, present us blameless, and give us great joy (Jude 1:24-25).
