Baptism Defined  —On simplybible.com certain technical or special words in the Bible are studied and explained in our glossary. Each lesson provides a word family, definitions, Greek and Hebrew references, a scripture chain, comments, and links to related lessons.

Facts About John the Baptizer  —A List of Bible facts about John the Baptizer. We look at what the scriptures reveal about him. A neat and simple list for reference.

Baptism Into Christ  —The fifth step to salvation is being buried with Christ by baptism into his death.

Is Baptism Immersion?  —In this lesson we study what is sometimes called the form or action of baptism.

Baby Baptism  —Examines the question of whether babies should be baptized. Looks at the state of innocence, the question of nature, and the steps of obedience that accompany baptism.

The Power of Bible Examples  —If we would understand the commands and ways of Christ, we need the examples that Scripture provides. Examples clarify the word and motivate us to obey it.

Don't Delay Baptism  —The book of Acts, in the Bible, gives us several examples of baptism. In five of these we observe that baptism was done as soon as possible after someone believed in Jesus Christ. Baptism was not delayed.

Of What is Baptism a Sign?  —It is said that baptism is an outward sign of inward grace, a sign that the Holy Spirit has quickened the heart, implanted faith, and granted salvation. Is this true?

Buried With Christ  —Can the enslaved sinner have faith so as to make the transition into the saved state? If so, what act marks the critical point where faith so liberates?

The Set and Stubborn Heart  —Why let your stubborn will stop you turning to your Heavenly Father for forgiveness of your sins? Invite him into your heart and do as he says.

The Sealed and Sanctified Heart  —This final lesson in the Jesus Changed My Heart series, shows that God has confirmed his promise to all his heirs by an oath and by a seal. So there are three distinct actions of God that can empower you.

What is Regeneration?  —Regeneration is renewal or rebirth, being ‘born again’. Rebirth is important in the doctrine of Christ. It is the bringing back to life of a person who is spiritually dead in sin.

Seven Great Changes  —One word that characterises the Last Days, is CHANGE. Seven great foundation changes took place centuries ago when Christ died.

Sons of God Clothed with Christ (Galatians 3:26-27)  —Many will agree with Paul that faith precedes coming into Christ and into sonship with God. It is hard, however, to find anyone who will agree with Paul that baptism precedes being clothed with Christ (Galatians 3:26-29). That is something that people find hard to hear.

Who is the Prophet Speaking About?  —An Ethiopian, travelling by chariot on a lonely road, was reading Isaiah 53. He wondered who the prophet was speaking about. God answered his question.

Brethren, What Shall We Do?  —After Peter preached on the Day of Pentecost, the crowd asked the apostles, “Brethren, What shall we do?” (Acts 2:37). We compare the account in Acts 2:37-40 with a statement attributed to Max Lucado, 'My only contribution to my salvation is my own sin'.

Do You Not Know?  —This lesson is about baptism, especially Paul’s challenging question, 'Do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ were baptized into his death?' (Romans 6:3).

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit  —This outline deals with the baptism of the Holy Spirit, one of the works of the Holy Spirit.

Four Things To Say (1Peter 3:21)  —Peter has four important things to say about baptism.

Life Changing Words  —The Queen’s treasurer from Ethiopia had been to worship in Jerusalem. As he sat in his chariot on his way home, travelling the lonely road, he was reading from the book of Isaiah. The passage he was reading when Philip ran up to his chariot and greeted him, was Isaiah 53:7-8.

Baptism and the Greek Word “eis”  —An uncomplicated study of the argument about the Greek word εις —does it mean “in order to receive forgiveness” or “because you have received forgiveness” in Acts 2:38?

Symbols of Christ’s Death (Outline)  —In the Bible we find many symbols of Christ’s death —symbols in the Old Testament looking forward to Christ’s death, and symbols in the New Testament looking back to it.

Why Be Baptized?  —This lesson examines God’s involvement and purpose in a person’s baptism, or what God does when a person is baptized, and what is God’s reason for baptism.

Baptism for the Dead (1Corinthians 15:29)  —What does Paul mean by the phrase “baptized for the dead” in 1Corinthians 15:29? These concise notes explain that baptism for the dead is not a proxy baptism (a living person being baptized for a dead person).

Why Did John Baptise Jesus?  —This lesson answers the question, 'Why did John baptise Jesus?' It is a simple answer drawn from a portion of Matthew chapter three.
