Repaying Evil  —The Christian has three things to remember, and live by, with regard to enemies. We find these in Romans 12:17-21.

The Nature of Peace  —Jesus Christ is known as the Prince of Peace, but what is this peace like, where does it come from, and what is it connected to?

Good and Evil - The Battle of Right Against Wrong  —The main themes in the Bible of course include Good and Evil. The age old struggle of good against evil still rages. But these are not equal , and good will be victorious.

Victory and Defeat  —Just as an army at war wants victory, not defeat, so do Christians. They are the army of Christ. Joined by angels, they fight for victory over the devil and his army. Every victorious soldier in this spiritual war wins a crown which is eternal life.

The Red Horse (Revelation 6:1-8)  —The red horse and its rider with the sword, represents slaughter and bloodshed, people killing people.

Four Killer Angels (Revelation 9:13-21)  —The vision of the four angels released at the river Euphrates to go and kill.

The Great Day of God  —This is one of the great themes of the visions which John recorded in the book of Revelation.

The Battle of Armageddon  —Many will agree with Paul that faith precedes coming into Christ and into sonship with God. It is hard, however, to find anyone who will agree with Paul that baptism precedes being clothed with Christ (Galatians 3:26-29). That is something that people find hard to hear.

Satan at War  —The war visions do not describe physical battles. Rather, these visions symbolise a spiritual battle (but a real battle nevertheless) being waged in everybody’s present life and experience, including yours and mine.

The Armour of God (Ephesians 6:10-24)  —A verse by verse study about the armour of God that enables us to win the battle against spiritual forces of darkness.

Withstanding the Wolves (Matthew 7)  —Casting pearls before swine and false prophets in sheep's clothing.

The Assyrian Captivity  —The beginning of the captivities as the larger kingdom (Israel) falls to Assyria and its people are taken away to foreign lands. Includes a table of the kings and prophets of Judah and Israel, plus a short piece on the supposed Ten Lost Tribes.

Captivity of Judah  —It is the southern kingdom of Judah’s turn to be deported from their own land into exile in a foreign country. God’s instrument in this punishment is Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.

The Fall of Babylon  —Jeremiah had predicted seventy years of captivity in Babylon. Both Jeremiah and Isaiah foretold the destruction of Babylon to end the captivity. After Nebuchadnezzar’s reign in Babylon, five kings reigned in succession over about 23 years. The last was Belshazzar son of Nebuchadnezzar.

The Destruction of Jerusalem  —This lesson brings us to the last of the twelve Times of Israel, and concentrates on Matthew 24.

Ezekiel Outline Chapters 21-22-23  —Chapters 21, 22, and 23 of Ezekiel outlined and analysed. The sword and furnace of God and the parable of two sisters Ohola and Oholibah.

Ezekiel Outline Chapters 24-25  —Chapters 24 and 25 of Ezekiel outlined and analysed. Siege of Jerusalem begins. The parable of the pot on the fire, Ezekiel faces his hardest task.

Doomsday (The Last Days)  —What the Bible says about the days before Christ’s second advent, compared to the Doomsday view.

Seven Nasty Years? (The Tribulation)  —Refuting the premillennial doctrine about Israel, Antichrist, and Armageddon.

The Belt of Truth Ephesians 6:10-17  —In the Bible, the church is not a place to be entertained. The church is “the pillar and ground of the truth.” We should look to God’s church to hear and receive God’s truth, not psychological hype or human idealism.

The Breastplate of Righteousness Ephesians 6:10-17  —Many will agree with Paul that faith precedes coming into Christ and into sonship with God. It is hard, however, to find anyone who will agree with Paul that baptism precedes being clothed with Christ (Galatians 3:26-29). That is something that people find hard to hear.

The Shoes of the Gospel Ephesians 6:10-17  —James's message is not against doing business, but against the arrogance of thinking you are in control of your life. God is in control, not you. He can allow your business to fail, and even your life to disappear, when you least expect it (James 4:13-17).

The Shield of Faith Ephesians 6:10-17  —Some preach only love, grace, hope, comfort, peace, and suchlike. They preach only what is positive to make people feel good. But we must also reprove and rebuke. We must do so in patience and truth, yet we must do so nevertheless (2Timothy 4:2).

The Helmet of Salvation  —People will say that there are many great lights in the world. They are the teachers who have given the world great insights. That may be so, but when people count Jesus as one among the many, that is not true. He is the only Mediator between God and man (1Timothy 2:4-6).

The Sword of the Spirit Ephesians 6:10-17  —Jesus is not just one of many good teachers, or just one of many great Lights. He is the one Lord and the only sacrifice that can take away sins. No one else will do.

Peter’s Three Swords  —This is not a lesson from Peter’s writings, however it is an old sermon outline which I felt would make a good finish to the two series of lessons covering Peter’s first and second epistles.

Be Strong and Courageous  —A lesson from Joshua 1:5-7 and the three threads that we find there.

Ephesians 6  —Ephesians chapter 6 rendered in simple clear sentences. Readings entitled “Master of the House” and “The Armour of God”.

Seek Peace and Pursue it  —The Bible tells us how to really be happy. One way is to seek and pursue peace. But what is peace, and how do you get it?

Fighting for the First Faith (Jude 1:3-4)  —A sermon from Jude 1:3-4. Jude is concerned that people should contend earnestly for the faith that had already been delivered to the saints, and beware of false teachers.
