❖  EVANGEL —ευαγγελιον (euangelion 2098) is Greek for gospel or “good news”.

Evangelist Defined  —On simplybible.com certain technical or special words in the Bible are studied and explained in our glossary. Each lesson provides a word family, definitions, Greek and Hebrew references, a scripture chain, comments, and links to related lessons.

The Ancient Order SERIES  —analysing the gospel of the first century. We summarise six elements under three headings each, with three points under each heading. We give key scripture references on each point. This makes a useful resource for systematic study. Each page consists of a compact chart, plus a list of relevant lessons that develop the topics.

The Gospel is the Power  —Three kinds of power in the gospel... the power to enlighten, to save, and to establish.

Hearing the Gospel  —The first step to salvation is listening to God’s word.

Did Paul and Peter's Gospel Differ? —Some people say that Paul’s gospel to the Gentiles was different from Peter’s gospel to the Jews. It is said that there were two gospels, one preached to the Jews and another preached to the Gentiles. This idea, however, is mistaken. We will look at some facts showing that Paul and Peter preached one gospel to both Jew and Gentile.

The Gospel According to the Old Testament  —This sermon outline presents the gospel using only the Old Testament scriptures.

No Other Gospel (Galatians 1:8-9)  —A curse is a bad thing. Nobody wants one. Well then, we had all better test the gospel we preach with the gospel Paul preached. Do we match, or do we differ?

Is the Gospel for the Church?  —Ten reasons for believing that the gospel of Christ is not just for sinners. It includes Christ’s doctrine for Christians.

Evangelists  —A Bible study about the special ministry and role of the evangelist in the churches of Christ.

The Gospel's Goal (1Timothy 1:5, 8-11)  —The gospel is not fruitless like the speculations of false teachers. The gospel has a definite aim, and it hits its target.

Five Marks of Good Teaching  —Good teaching is essential to the growth and continuity of the church and of each soul who listens to the teacher. There are five marks that distinguish good teaching from bad.

Preaching the Gospel  —The city’s plan for highway development, or the State’s hydro-electric scheme will not work without workers. It is like that with God’s plan of redemption.

Quiz on the Gospels  —(Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). 30 questions.

The Message of the Gospel  —Paul worried that the Colossians would abandon his teaching and become captives of false doctrines and commandments. How do we distinguish truth from the many false messages in the world?

The Ministry of the Gospel  —When we talk of ministers in the church, we should always think of servants. Service was a strong characteristic of the ministry of Paul.

The Method of Evangelism  —In Colossians 4:3-6 Paul mentions the most important elements of the method by which he went about fulfilling his ministry to preach the message of Christ.

The Word Shall Go Forth (Isaiah)  —A lengthy study drawn from nine prophecies in Isaiah, quoted in the New Testament, predicting the gospel of Christ.

The Fourfold Ministry of Jesus  —Of the four tasks in Christ’s ministry, the first three were his sole responsibility. The fourth he began, leaving his church to carry it on.

Acts Facts - Spread of Christianity  —Introduction to the Acts Facts series: The Spread of Christianity and the six parts of the book of Acts.

Acts 1:1-8  —This page is a verse by verse study of Acts 1:1-8, Luke's introduction to the book of Acts, and his account of Christ’s parting words and commission to his disciples before his ascension into heaven.

More Effective Soul Winning  —How to be successful in personal evangelism. Examples from book of Acts.

Successful Evangelism  —Successful evangelism is not measured by numbers. Though few are converted, we may still be succeeding.

Law and the Gospel  —Are the gospel and new covenant the same thing? Did Christ teach the Law or the gospel?

Ready to Answer  —about always being ready to give an answer for Jesus Christ (1Peter 3:15).

Fake News, Old News, Good News  —The Bible is God's revelation to humanity. It is news from God to enlighten us. The Bible exposes fake news namely the devil's lies. The Bible informs us of God's old news namely the law of Moses. The Bible brings us the good news, namely the gospel or new covenant of Christ.

Grace and the Great Commission  —Grace is behind Christ’s command to go into all the world proclaiming the gospel. But what if nobody goes? Or what if nobody wants to listen? What if nobody obeys? Do this thought experiment.
