❖ MYTHICAL —means imaginary, fictitious, invented. Mythology is the inventing and telling of stories that are not true in themselves but supposedly represent truth. A legend is based upon something or someone real, but mixed with make believe.
➤ Busting the Faith Only Myth —The idea that we are “saved by faith alone” is a widespread myth. We are not saved by faith alone. Your salvation depends on busting this myth and knowing the truth.
➤ Myth and Make Believe? —It is a common belief that much of the Bible, especially the historical content, is myth and make-believe. But are the stories fact or fable? Some say the stories in the Bible are symbolic of spiritual realities and are therefore valid even if untrue in a literal sense.
➤ God's provisions for our minds (1Timothy 1:1-11) —God helps people live the Christian life by providing the training, discipline, information, and edification that is needed.
➤ The Gospel's Goal (1Timothy 1:5, 8-11) —The gospel is not fruitless like the speculations of false teachers. The gospel has a definite aim, and it hits its target.
