❖  SANCTIFY —`αγιαζω (hagiazoo 37) is Greek for sanctify, meaning “make holy” or “make sacred”.

Sanctification Defined  —On simplybible.com certain technical or special words in the Bible are studied and explained in our glossary. Each lesson provides a word family, definitions, Greek and Hebrew references, a scripture chain, comments, and links to related lessons.

Five Points of Calvinism SERIES  —A series addressing and refuting Calvinism, following the useful TULIP acrostic that many Calvinists employ to set out the five main principles.

The Lamb and his First Fruits (Revelation 14:1-5)  —An Exposition of Revelation 14:1-5. In contrast to the antichristian kingdom of the Beast whose subjects have the mark of his name upon them, John now has a vision of the kingdom of Christ the Lamb. His 144,000 followers have the mark of another name upon them, the name of Christ and his Father.

Sanctification (Wonderful Words)  —We look at five characteristics of saints and of their sanctification or holiness: purification, separateness, fellowship, enlightenment, and loyalty.

Sanctification a Second Blessing?  —The doctrine of the second blessing is that sanctification is not fully given to all who receive the blessing of salvation. You can be saved, but not yet be entirely sanctified. Full sanctification is a kind of second conversion that brings a person into a state of sinless perfection.

The Spirit Works With the Word  —Compares scripture with scripture regarding the Spirit and the word. The Holy Spirit works through God’s word.

Tasted of Grace  —Examines the argument that those who fall away have only tasted of grace and did not fully partake of grace.

The Marks of a Saint  —At least 21 spiritual blessings keep appearing in the scriptures that we are studying. All these blessings are true of holy people or 'saints' as some Bibles say. I have mnemonically arranged the 21 terms into seven groups of three. We might call these the seven marks of a saint.

The Security of the Saints  —A simple scripture chain on the security or perseverance of the saints.

The Saints Saved and Sealed  —Three point Bible study: (1) All the saints are sealed, (2) Only saints are sealed, (3) All the saved are saints.

What Jesus Accomplished on the Cross  —Explains justification, sanctification, and redemption.

Jesus the Perfect Sacrifice  —The body and blood of Jesus, because he was without sin, made an offering that satisfied God once and for all.

The Unknown Disciples (Romans 16)  —Chapter sixteen of Paul’s letter to the Romans contains the names of 34 people. But this chapter does more than record their names: it also tells us three important and beautiful things about these people.

Jesus Our Saviour  —What do we mean when we call Jesus our Saviour? What does he do?

Holiness in Life  —1Thessalonians 3:12 to 4:12) Paul emphasises holiness or sanctification. He teaches four important points about holiness.
