First section of Ezekiel: his burden for Israel.

Ezekiel Chapter 1The first chapter of Ezekiel is outlined and analysed. A vision of a whirlwind firestorm, four creatures, four wheels, a firmament, and high above, a man on a throne.


Ezekiel Chapters 2⁠-⁠3The 2nd and 3rd chapters of Ezekiel outlined and analysed. Ezekiel commissioned as a watchman for the house of Israel.


Ezekiel Chapters 4⁠-⁠5,The 4th and 5th chapters of Ezekiel outlined and analysed. Ezekiel enacts the siege of Jerusalem as God instructs. God describes the coming judgment and destruction.


Ezekiel Chapters 6⁠-⁠7⁠-⁠8The 6th, 7th, and 8th chapters of Ezekiel are outlined and analysed. God’s Judgment and Blessing; Lament for Jerusalem; Vision of Abominations.

Ezekiel records: God’s warning of Jerusalem’s destruction soon; God’s condemnation of false prophets with idols in their hearts; God’s punishment using famine, beasts, sword, and plague; God’s Parable of Vine and Tree.


Ezekiel Chapters 16⁠-⁠17These chapters continue to record the messages that came to Ezekiel from the LORD God. God speaks of his love for Israel, his sorrow for their terrible sins, and their coming destruction at the hands of their enemies. But again God promises that whilst Israel is a tree cut down, a tender branch of it will be grown into a new tree and thrive.


Ezekiel Chapters 18-19-20Chapters 18, 19, and 20 of Ezekiel outlined and analysed. A key question is whether God punishes the innocent. There is a lament, delivered in parables, about the sons of Josiah. There is also the story of Israel’s rebellion.


Ezekiel Chapters 21-22-23Chapters 21, 22, and 23 of Ezekiel are outlined and analysed. These are about Babylon's role, Israel's sins, and a parable of two immoral sisters Ohola and Oholibah.


Ezekiel Chapters 24-25Chapters 24 and 25 of Ezekiel are outlined and analysed. The siege of Jerusalem begins. The parable of the cooking pot. Ezekiel’s hardest task.

Second section of Ezekiel: other nations


Ezekiel Chapters 26-27-28Chapters 26, 27, and 28 of Ezekiel are outlined and analysed. These chapters are about the city and coastal region of Tyre.


Ezekiel Chapters 29-30-31-32Chapters 29, 30, 31, and 32 of Ezekiel are outlined and analysed. These chapters are about Egypt, and consist of a series of oracles and laments given to Ezekiel for the Egyption empire and its Pharaoh.

Third section of Ezekiel: hope beyond the fall


Ezekiel Chapters 33-34-35-36Chapters 33, 34, 35, and 36 of Ezekiel are outlined and analysed. These messages from God contain the certain hope of restoration after the fall. God is merciful and fair, and his word is true.


Ezekiel Chapters 37-38-39Chapters 37, 38, and 39 of Ezekiel are outlined and analysed. These chapters are about the vision of the valley of dry bones, and oracles against Gog and Magog.
