This quarter was very successful as you will see from the figures below. For the entire quarter, the site was running on the upgrade completed in the previous quarter. It ran very smoothly. We added some new features to the site.

New Videos for Youtube

Over the quarter, 13 half⁠-⁠hour videos were taken from the archive and converted into YouTube videos. There's a day's work in converting a lesson to YouTube, but I believe it's worth the effort. The videos made this quarter were...

By the end of December 2019, the YouTube simplybible channel provided 30 half⁠-⁠hour videos, and 20 short video slide presentations. The YouTube channel finished the year with 400 subscribers.

As an indicator of the value in making these videos, for the year 2019 there were some 7000 viewings and 200 new subscribers.

New Pages on simplybible.com

Hard to Hear Word of God

We added a new feature on simplybible.com presenting Bible verses that people find hard to accept. The series starts off with five pages and a cover page as below. A special Facebook page facebook.com/HardToHearWordOfGod was set up where the same are posted.

Science Related Bible Lessons

I wrote three new pages in the series “Through Much Tribulation”. These 3 lessons give the Biblical perspective on three matters which scientists are talking about. Some talk in such a way as to cause alarm, predicting the imminent end of our world and contradicting the Bible. The three new lessons are as follows:

The figures for page views over the quarter (total of pages opened by visitors) were as follows:

That is an average for page views of around 261,600 a month or 8000 daily.

For the twelve months to the end of December, the number of page views was 3.2 million. (Source Awstats).

The figure of 784,843 page views for the quarter is 9% improved on the 699,805 page views for the final quarter of 2018.

December Doldrums

Activity on the website is normally at a low in December. Here are December page views (in 1000s) for the past five years, compared with the preceding November and following January. You can see that in every year December slumps.

Seventeenth Year Completed

As 2019 closes, simplybible.com completes its seventeenth year online and begins its 18th year. The website first went online in December 2002. It was a very basic site with 80 study pages. Today it has more than 1400 study pages, its own internal search engine, and a substantial YouTube video collection, plus feature pages on Facebook.

Vanuatu Opportunity

As mentioned in my previous reports, a number of people, from various islands of Vanuatu, are in Australia working in the orchards and market gardens. During the quarter, two men were here who often visited us. We held some Sunday morning services in our home, and if they couldn't come in the morning, we offered them a Sunday evening service.
