Ministry Reports

Ron Graham’s Report
— for Jul-Aug-Sep (3rd Quarter) 2021

This page reports my work on simplybible.com for the information of those who take a special interest in that work.

The Importance of Reporting

The book of Acts provides excellent instruction for Christian teachers and evangelists. It has, for example, this statement: "On their release, Peter and John returned to their own people and reported everything that the chief priests and the elders had said to them" (Acts 4:23).

We notice first that Peter and John were anxious to keep their brethren informed. It was "upon their release", as soon as practicable, that they reported. Secondly, They reported "to their own people", the people who cared about them, and encouraged them, and who had a right to know what had happened. Thirdly, they "reported everything" that took place in the court of the rulers and elders of Israel. In other words they gave a full and frank report.

I try to follow those principles in my ministry. My reports are not nearly as dramatic as Peter and John’s, but they are important nevertheless.

YouTube Videos

In the 90 days starting June 23, there was, as usual, considerable activity on our YouTube video channel. 3,300 plays yielded 386 hours of viewing. Another 69 people became subscribers. We are getting close to 1000 subscriers.

This activity is good, but there is a downside:  videos viewed at that level will attract advertising. Viewers who don't pay YouTube to escape advertisements will have to view them.

At the beginning of this year YouTube began slowly rolling out ads on a limited number of videos from channels not in Youtube Partner Program. This means YouTube creators, even though not in YPP, may have ads inserted on some of their videos. They won’t receive a share of the revenue from these ads.

Fortunately most users of free YouTube expect and tolerate ads. They just wait a few seconds to click "skip ad". Hopefully the videos that attract advertising will in turn get higher ranking and be listed more often. Nevertheless I am not pleased with this development.

Our YouTube channel is www.youtube.com/simplybible if you wish to have a look.

Odds and Ends

TWITTER. One of our social media accounts was with Twitter. Because of that platform's behaviour and new policy, I ceased posting months ago and now have closed the account entirely.

CHURCH. We continued to hold Sunday morning services in our home, with one Christian lady still meeting regularly with us using Zoom.

VANUATU. We keep in touch with our friends from Vanuatu. One of them, Patrick, likes to read the same lesson we use in our Suynday Worship, so we send him the link. Miswell, who had a serious accident when fruit picking is back home in Tanner Island Vanuatu. His insurance payout allowed him to set up a shop and acquire a vehicle. Miswell is a faithful Christian.

FOUR SCORE. This was my first quarter as an Octogenarian. I turned 80, and thank God that I can still be useful to him.

Thank You

Thank you also for continuing to assist me in the Lord’s work. Thank you for your prayers and your belief in my work on the website. You are helping God to bless this darkened world. You are joining with me in obeying the great commission.

Love and best wishes in Jesus.
