Are You Christian in Attitude? If you cannot answer “yes” to these questions, then you do not have the ATTITUDE of a Christian. You need to correct this.
Are you loving toward others? Do you try to act without coldness or nastiness?
1Corinthians 13:1-7
Are you forgiving? Do you try to judge only righteous judgment? Do you try not to hold grudges?
Matthew 6:14-15
Do you look upon others as better than yourself and try not to think too highly of yourself?
Philippians 2:3, Romans 12:3, James 4:6
Do you have the blessed assurance that you are saved and that God cares for you?
Romans 8:28, 1John 2:3,28
Do you count your blessings and try not to grumble? Do you have the gratitude attitude?
1Timothy 6:8, Colossians 3:15
Do you stand up for Jesus and wear his name with courage?
1Peter 4:16
It is relatively easy to accept God’s word by faith. It is harder to apply the word to the Christian life, and to developing the attitudes essential to that life.
Many of the problems that develop between people, and many of our weaknesses, are not caused by things we do, or fail to do. Often the cause is an attitude of mind. We make a mess of how we think and feel about ourselves, about others, and about God.
We struggle with the application of God’s word to how we think and feel, how we view the world. That's where we are really tested for genuine Christianity.
